INDIA AND PERCEPTION OF INDEPENDENCE Introduction This year in 2022, the 75 th Independence Day was celebrated in India on 15 th August 2022. It is the celebration of our freedom from the rule of the British Empire and to give tribute to our great leaders who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. It is a very proud moment for everyone in the country and everyone contributed in their own way to express their love for their country. On this auspicious occasion, a campaign of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was held to encourage the people of India to bring flags and hoists to their homes. People also contributed by making videos with the flag, hoisting the flag in the house, and participating in the rally of the flag hoisting to mark the 75 th year of India’s Independence.
