India and perception of Independence

INDIA AND PERCEPTION OF INDEPENDENCE

Introduction

This year in 2022, the 75th Independence Day was celebrated in India on 15th August 2022. It is the celebration of our freedom from the rule of the British Empire and to give tribute to our great leaders who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. It is a very proud moment for everyone in the country and everyone contributed in their own way to express their love for their country. On this auspicious occasion, a campaign of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was held to encourage the people of India to bring flags and hoists to their homes. People also contributed by making videos with the flag, hoisting the flag in the house, and participating in the rally of the flag hoisting to mark the 75th year of India’s Independence. I on behalf of the people of India, take the privilege to express my hearty gratitude toward my country and pray for its happiness and prosperity of the country. I am blessed to be born in India. I am proud of my country for all its privileges and constitutional rights which I can proudly enjoy over here. My country is my 1st love and I love the people of my country. We all are varied in various things. India is a country of diversity and still, unity is the power of our country.

Perception of people before independence

India got freedom on 15th August 1947 after so many sacrifices by our known and unknown great leaders who shed their blood for the country. Before independence, there were many such customary boundaries and rigid approaches of the people of India. Many of the innermost problems of the country were put to an end to achieve the freedom of our country. Many rigid and deep-rooted rites, rituals, and customs were removed to attain the freedom of the country. Sati-pratha was banned, untouchability was removed, the education system was established, the emancipation of Indian women, the army was formed, patriotism was created in the heart of the people, etc. Various kinds of riots and revolutions took place in which every single person in the country participated together forgetting the difference of sex, colour, race, religion, gender, caste, place of birth, etc. People were working on the same thoughts and the same target to achieve freedom for the country. People of the country were always ready to help each other and fight for each other against British rule. Everyone was struggling for freedom and helping each other to grow with more power for the betterment of the country. In this way keeping the same approach with awareness to achieve the freedom of the country. Many sacrificed their lives happily for the nation and we got our freedom on 15th August 1947.

Perception of people after independence

India got freedom from British rule but after that India was in a very bad condition humanly, financially, socially, emotionally and in various other aspects of life. India had lost many of its leaders' lives for the independence of the country and was looking for a hassle-free and peaceful life for everyone.

In this situation, our Constitution was the most precious gift given by the most eminent leaders of our country Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and the team of the drafting committee. Our constitution gave us the power to rule our country in our own ways through the parliament of India. Our country started developing slowly in various ways. We have reached the moon and mars and also acquired various gold medals in various Olympic games. India is in the number one position in every aspect of the progress of the world. Still, there are so many high miles to go towards becoming the most powerful country in the world.

India is the country that is the origin of many inventions and creativity that helped the world to advance and Indian people are recognized as the most loyal and efficient people in the whole world. Zero was first invented in India the counting of the numbers was possible, the language of stars was invented first here in India as astrology, the decimal point was invented in India then it was possible to calculate the distance of earth and moon, civilization first came in India, arts and creativity is the base of India, the first spaceship was invented in India and much more is the contribution of India to the world. The song from the movie Purab and Paschim (Hai Preet Jahan ki reet sada) is the most famous one to explain the richness of India. It is very sad to say that even after being the most prominent and powerful country people of India want to settle outside India. Even after knowing the facts about India the people have become very much narrow-minded towards their own country.

Effect of Covid-19 on India

Our country is the first to get out of the pressure of the fear of the covid-19 virus. India is one of the most vaccinated countries after the covid-19 pandemic. Already people were stuck up in their life for their daily earnings and survival in this world. Running behind the survival and fulfilling the needs of the family and their own self people had forgotten to live their life. In this situation, this pandemic again brought a very huge impact on the people of India which made some people to rethink over their own thought processes, and lifestyles and some were burdened in many aspects of life. The mindset of people has changed to a very low level where people do not even trust each other or their own family members, do not help each other, there is hatred, fear, anger, jealousy, differences in thoughts, discomfort, pain, stress, anxiety, depression and so on and on. Research has proved that this situation is going to worsen in the coming decades. This situation can be changed by us only and we have the power to do so.

Conclusion

India has been free from the British rule long back but still we are not free from the boundaries of our own thought process or our own mindset. We have learned to survive and arrange our livelihood but we all are not free from our own thought processes. We all are still stuck in many of our difference, needs, social norms etc which used to be there before independence. Food, shelter, clothing and education are the basic needs of the people of India which are not fulfilled in some areas and most of the population of India is still struggling for the same. Thereafter medical treatment, sanitation, livelihood etc do not reach the needy people. The Financial, Economic & Social structure of India has to be made stronger enough so that every Indian could fulfill the basic needs very easily and work towards the creative development and prosperity of the country. We have the power to take our country towards more development and prosperity. Our needs are very much limited but the external world is so advanced that we have forgotten to live our life running behind the survival other than freely living our life. Most of the people are currently stuck up in the games of the mind wherein they lose the opportunities. The system of the country is still to be developed and the people of the country have to follow the system and the rules and regulation of the country on their own wish without anyone’s force. It is very important that people of India come together for the growth and development of the country as they had come together for the independence of the country.
